Gymnasts tumbled, vaulted, somersaulted and had great fun taking part in the annual Christmas display. This year was special as the Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club members and supporters were celebrating its 40th birthday.

There were individual displays by some of the competitive squad gymnasts as well as fun group displays, these included Surfing USA style, a school scene Matilda style as well as seven delightful dwarfs.

The boys showed some impressive work on the parallel bars and mushroom as well as rings and vault. Their fast moving trampette display wowed the audience.

The mini and junior squad girls showed routines on the beam, asymmetric bars and they performed a group display to ‘Wings’ on floor.

The display was followed by a party where a lovely cake made by the Club’s administrator, Mandie Adams, was cut by Lynn Hammersley, founder and Director of Coaching at the Club.

The Club goes from strength to strength and looks forward to another 40 years.
