The newly formed Ross Walking Netball group recently played their first friendly against a more experienced Herefordshire Team, at Hereford Leisure Centre.
It was the first time for most of the players to actually play in a match, and despite all the nerves and concerns, the players were brilliant and gave the Hereford team a good run for their money. They are now asking ‘when can we play again?’
The group has the wonderful help and support of Lindsay Hacking, who is the Herefordshire Netball Development Officer.
The Walking Netball group are always looking for more to join, and all ages and abilities are welcome. They play every Thursday from 6pm-7pm at John Kyrle High School. From October until March the group will be playing at Upton Bishop Hall.
Walking netball is a slowed down version of the game, designed for anyone looking to exercise in a relaxed, supportive and friendly environment. For more information contact Jane on 078877 68485.
