A mixed weekend for Goodrich Cricket Club Winter Sleighers, in round 3 of the HPL, which left them in second position at the halfway stage of the league fixtures.

With Joe Griffiths and Andrew Evans missing through injury and Andy Brown on a week of intensive altitude training, the GCC were forced to field a new look side that were soon reeling in the face of a niggling Ludlow CC bowling attack. Goodrich lost Sam Griffiths, McLarty, Seymour, Piper and Davies in quick succession, and at 54 - 5, their prospects of setting a competitive total looked bleak. Salvation came in the stylish shape of last man standing Rory Jackson who, striking a quite brilliant 90, was eventually dismissed having pulled the villagers back into the game.
