Abi Beddard completed the London Marathon, her first marathon, in four hours eight minutes, which was fantastic considering it was the hottest on record.

She was running her first ever marathon in memory of her brother Matthew who passed away in February 2005. He had a brain tumour and Abi ran for Teenage Cancer Trust who were this year’s chosen partner and raised £4086.20 (with gift aid £4652.75)

Her family are all extremely proud of her, they think it was a fantastic achievement and amount raised. They are very grateful to everyone who made donations and supported Abi.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now
