Alice Hurley, the Ross Gazette’s Sportsperson of the Year 2015, returned to Hartpury last weekend to compete on Karen Bourdon’s stallions in the dressage classes at the GBPRE Spanish Horse National Championships and the British Dressage and Copa Ancce events.

Alice, on the handsome black Deseado won the FEI Inter 1 and Prix St Georges with a 68% and 67%, and on the bay, Resuelto, won the Advanced Medium with a 66%.

As the weekend progressed, Deseado gained the Copa Ancce Championship for his combined scores and Resuelto’s performance gained him Champion and Reserve Champion in the Spanish show classes.

On the final day Alice won the Madrid (FEI Inter1) with a 71% on Deseado and the Lisboa (Adv Med) on Resuelto with 68%.

Alice and Deseado have qualified for the Iberian Dressage Masters European Championships in Paris, and the SICAB World Championships in Seville this autumn. Other horses and riders trained by Alice from the Premier Pre yard also achieved many winning scores and qualifications.
