Up and coming Ross footballer Danny Haile, who started playing for Ross Rebels when he was just 10 years old, has been named in the England Colleges' U17 squad for the 2012-13 season.

Danny had to take part in trials over two days before he was notified of his selection. He told the Gazette that there were about 60 footballers from all over the country and 18 were chosen, there was only one other from Hartpury and Danny was the only one selected.

He will take part in his first training session with them on January 4th in Telford and will then travel to Italy for their first game.

He told the Gazette he is used to travelling for football, as a member of the Gloucester City squad he has had to attend matches all over the Midlands.
