15 riders took part in last Thursday's Ross Cycling Club 10 mile time trial at Old Gore with cooler conditions than of late only the wind was there to truly play its part on the return leg. Some found it tougher than the strong winds of the week before but some improved dramatically over previous bests.

Fastest on the night but slow by his own standards was Will Bevan, suffering from his very wet 1hour 53 minute 50 mile test on Sunday he still beat the rest by over one and a half minutes with Mark Lavington heading the field for second place with Forest clubs Adam Taylor just behind closely followed by Ross rider Steve Millard in fourth. The latter found the run to the turn very slow and had too much to make up on the uphill return. Paul Stephens, also rode the wet 50 miler at the weekend, was just outside of 26 minutes in fifth and found the return tough but was well ahead of Max Suff who had a very close tussle with an improving James Wilson, split by just a second. Their battle will go to the end of the season with both hoping to get the better of the other. Nigel Skyrme did a stronger ride to take 8th place by good margin from roadbike mounted Andy Turner from the Climb-on team. Not far behind was Sarah Cosker also on a roadbike, when she gets a more aero bike some of the boys will have to look to their laurels. Steve Williams did a solid ride for 11th with Wayne Mason, Gary Downs and Richard Harrington all in hot pursuit. Paul Cooper took 15th place a little way off 20 mph but he is sure to get more speed as the race mileage builds.

Next event takes place on Thursday August 15th at 1900, with signing on from 1830 - 1845.
