Ross CC Sunday XI hosted a side made up of veterans of Harewood End CC for a friendly fundraising match at the Park on Sunday. In traditional Sunday cricket fashion, 15 minutes before the due start time, only four players had arrived, but were joined by the rest of the players over the following half hour. Most of the Harewood End side had not stepped over the boundary rope for at least 15 years, which is when the club ceased to play. With one or two guests, and qualification through family, HECC managed to muster 14 players, while Ross fielded a side bristling with several First team players. However as many had over-indulged the night before the scene was set for a tense but gentle-paced contest. Full report in Ross Gazette edition August 20th.
