Ross-on-Wye Bowling Club enjoyed their first game of the season with the Ladies versus Gents. It was themed as a ’Fun Day’ with clothing of red, white and blue, in honour of the Queen’s 90th Birthday celebrations this year.

Over 50 members dressed for the part and made a colourful spectacle on and off the Green. Every member had a chance of playing a different position on the rink during the game which made for some interesting bowling.

As in the previous few years, the Ladies won the day with a score of 112 to the Men’s score of 101. The Ladies’ Captain’s rink of Karen Frost, Elaine George, Graham Scarborough (one of the men making up the shortfall of ladies) was the highest winning rink.

This game was a terrific beginning to the bowling season and the start of a very full bowling calendar.
