At the National Bowls England Championships at Leamington Spa, Ross Men start their games representing Herefordshire when Henry Watkins, plays in the Sutton Winson Trophy for the Under 18s in his first National Championship.

Dave Magness plays in the Senior Pairs on Friday, August 18th; Martin Smith, Senior Regional Singles Champion again, plays on Saturday, August 26th; Jeremy Watkins, County 2 Wood Runner-up, starts on Tuesday, August 29th and Dan Palmer, County Singles Champion, plays his first round on Wednesday, August 30th.

Ross Men were triumphant in the Hereford Times Cup, beating Eastnor Bowling Club in the Final on Sunday, July 30th.

Ross Men and Ross Ladies both won their respective Wyvern League competitions, both sections having not really required to play the final game because they could not be beaten.

In the internal Monday afternoon Triples League the winners were: Harold Aubrey, David Millington-Jones and Gwen Lambert; the runners-up were: Peter Askwith, Tony Beizsley and Linda Evans.

And in the Hereford Men’s League, in Division 1 Ross A came second to Ledbury BC who were just four points ahead. Ross C came fifth; Ross D came sixth in Division 2.
