The latest rounds of county National Qualifiers, held at Ross Bowling Club, saw the same teams contest the finals of both the Fours and the Mixed Fours events, with the Woolhope team of John Jillings, John Mills and Shirley and Becci Cox triumphing each time, over the team made up of Rod Dawson (Woolhope), Fran Jones (Escley), Terry Darrington and Rita Hancock (both Aston Ingham).

These latest successes mean that the Woolhope club has provided the winners, and automatic qualifiers for the national finals in April, in four of the five disciplines. The double runners-up now face a wait as their participation in the finals depends on the allocation of finals places made to the county.

The county A-team defeated Gloucestershire 25-15 in their third group qualifying match and are now well placed, needing only a narrow victory in their final match at home to Avon to win the group. The Premier team, however, completed their group matches with a heavy defeat away to Cheshire and, finishing bottom of their group, will now go into the consolation knockout competition in January.
