Ross Ladies took part in the National Top Club Bowling competition, which was held at Chew Stoke Bowling Club in Somerset on Sunday, July 24th. They were excellent hosts for this match. Their opponents were the winners of the Devon rounds, King’s BC, Torquay, one of the most successful clubs in England.

Their team included one Junior and one Senior International player. Several of their players have also qualified for the National Championships to be held at Leamington next month. It was a great opportunity for the Ross Ladies to play against such talented players.

Prior to the game the heavens opened and a steady downpour continued for almost the first hour of the match. Unfortunately, this did not help the Ross players with their game and, despite the valiant efforts of the team, Ross lost 3-1.

Kings are now through to the last 16 in the championship.
