Ross Bowling Club members held a surprise 90th birthday party for Muriel Smith on the afternoon of Thursday, July 14th.

Muriel is a very loyal and longstanding member of the Club. She is one of the longest serving members of the Club, having joined Ross Bowling Club in 1964 and during that time has served on Club committees, has been Vice President, Ladies’ Captain, Ladies’ Treasurer, and Chairman.

She has won the County Rinks and Triples, and represented Herefordshire at the National Championships. At Club level she has won the Two Wood Singles and the Mixed Pairs, to name but a few of her successes.

Muriel is the most stalwart club member who always makes the effort to support the Club matches, often travelling with the teams to encourage the players, and makes constructive comments about members bowling tactics and levels of bowling competence when she thinks fit.

Happy Birthday wishes, Muriel, from all your friends and members of the Club.
