The Forest Of Dean Carp Angling Championships is set to become the largest fishing competition in the area. This year’s event will be supporting Children with Cancer UK and also a local charity, Helping Harry Get SDR.

Harry was born prematurely and diagnosed with cerebral palsy which means he can’t take part in certain activities, cannot walk unaided and gets extremely tired.

Harry needs an operation to give him a brighter outlook for the future. The operation itself is not funded on the NHS and Harry’s Mum, Sasha, is hoping to raise £40,000 for it to go ahead.

This year’s angling event will be held at Hartleton and Biddleston, in Herefordshire, as well as some of the Forest’s iconic lakes such as Cannop, Steam Mills and Lydney and some of the smaller day waters such as Elton, Kings and Noxon Farm.

The competition will be staged and qualification begins on August 11th. For more information email: [email protected] or visit their Facebook page.
