The Forest of Dean Combination are celebrating their Centenary this season, a 100 years of Forest Rugby rivalry, and Ross RFC were chosen to host the Centenary Rugby 7s Tournament, at Greytree, on Sunday.
Both the weather and rugby were hot, with all sides showing some great early season form. Ross RFC Chairman Paul Haley said: "Ross would like to express their thanks to the Forest Combination for allowing Ross to host this tournament, and would like to thank all the committee and volunteers whose help was crucial in ensuring the day ran smoothly."Many thanks to Sue Watkins and the First Responders for their help, and Ben Davies for supplying the hog roast free of charge. Also, a big thanks to Club President Brian Harris for organising the day."As Ross prepare to embark on their 140th season as a rugby club, they have two games on Saturday August 24th at Greytree. The Firsts entertaining St Albans, from Cardiff, and the Seconds take on Harlequins, from Gloucester.Ross' league season, in the South West Division 2, begins on September 14th away to Broad Plain. Their first competitive fixture is a cup match at home to Chaddesley Corbett on August 31st.
