On Sunday, February 25th, a sunny but cold and windy day, Goodrich ’A’ttitudes journeyed to Ludlow to play their ladies ’A’ team.

With the foreboding castle glaring down at them, first Goodrich pair, Cheryl Mordecai and Steph Howell took the first rubber 6-1/6-0.

Second pair, Bonnie Palmer and Wendy Jenkins, looked to be heading in the same direction, taking the first set 6-1, but then the Ludlow ladies had other ideas and took the next two sets 6-1/6-1.

At the change over, Cheryl and Steph picked up from where they had left off and won their second rubber, 6-1/6-2.

Ludlow Ladies first pair proved too strong for Bonnie and Wendy, who only managed to pick up three games in the second rubber, but having won a set in the first rubber, Goodrich ’A’ttitudes came away with a winning draw and six valuable points to put them in second place in Division 3 of the H&W Winter League.
