The Royal Dean Forest Cycling Club's commitment to getting youngsters out on bikes continues.

The club is holding a regular coaching session led by James Moverley of FoDMTB guides. They have initially organised sessions to be run on a local playing field which will form part of their regular rides for the next few months. James is a seasoned professional guide and it is a good opportunity to benefit from his experience. He is currently training to be a British Cycling Mountain Bike Level 2 coach and already is a qualified level 2 leader. The club are delighted to be able to support him.

The focus of the sessions will be on group riding, covering important safety basics, how to work together and how to cope when the elbows come out, most riders should be able to learn something.

Everyone attending all of the sessions will get a certificate of completion afterwards and all riders under 18 will also get a goody bag.

It will be starting at the usual time with signing on at 9.15, Sunday, at the Kona Café in Parkend.

The Racing season kicks off this month, with the club holding its open 25mile time trail on the Usk-Monmouth course on March 23rd, and on the 18th March many club members will be riding the Forest's Wild Boar Chase, run by the Lions Club and assisted by RDFCC.

Sunday Club Mountain bike and Road bike rides run from Parkend 9:30 every Sunday. All are welcome to join a ride, nobody will be left behind!
