Ross-on-Wye Cricket Club 1st XI hosted Netherton CC 1st XI at The Park on Saturday, May 30th.

Ross skipper, Harry Porter won the toss and decided to bowl first. Porter opened the bowling himself, in tandem with Harry King, and they held the Netherton openers in check right from the off.

It wasn't long before Lee was dismissed by King, thanks to a catch snaffled in the gully by Mike Jeffryes. Club Coach, Christiaan Ferreira was then introduced into the attack and continued to apply the pressure on the Netherton top order, culminating in S Oseland being sent back to the pavilion for 24, courtesy of an unconvincing catch at cover by Ben Lander.

King then struck again with the last ball of his spell, dismissing Harris for 24, caught behind by Calum McIntosh. Ferreira quickly followed this with the wicket of opener Lowe for a solid 48 and then Lewis (0) assisted by two further catches for keeper McIntosh to leave the opposition at 118-5.
