CRICKETERS were bowled over at their club’s annual awards night ahead of the new season.

Members of Aston Ingham CC celebrated at Upton Bishop village hall, with Angus Bartlett making a clean sweep of the 1st XI batting, bowling and all-rounder awards, as well as making the most runs.

James Benn picked up the best fielder award, while Clyde Breetzke took the 2nd XI bowling and all-rounder awards, while the club’s biggest wicket taker and best 3rd XI bowler was Lucia Carini.

And Jimmy Davies scooped the 3rd XI batting award and an honour for his 102 not out against Redmarley for the 2nds, while Tom Parsons won the 2nd team batting award.

Max Evans and Toby O’Neill received the Wellon Cup and Leadon Vale league winners trophy to top off a fantastic unbeaten season for the Under 15s, with Toby named best young player.

Meanwhile, the club is appealing for extra pairs of hands to help prepare its two grounds and pavilion for the start of the new season.

There will be a work party at the ground this Saturday (April 9) from 9am, so anyone who can spare a few hours would be most welcome.
