The junior section of Aston Ingham Cricket Club celebrated a great season in style on Friday, September 9th at their annual junior awards evening. This season has seen the youth section continue to flourish and the event was attended by over 100 people.
In the picturesque setting of Aston Ingham Cricket Club, the boys and girls enjoyed junior carting (supplied by Cub Karting) as well as soft ball cricket games and a barbecue for all. Parents also got a chance to show off their skills against the bowling machine (although it was tennis balls).
Every junior member received a medal and 18 individual achievement awards were awarded for those who had excelled in their age groups, including a most improved and best attitude category.
There has also been lots of success on the field across all the age groups with the U11s ending the season unbeaten in the Leadon Vale league.
The coaches commented on what a pleasure it had been to help the junior cricketers develop and witness the great progress each child has made whilst also having loads of fun.
They cannot wait to welcome players back for winter training. Dates will soon be available for the club’s winter nets, held at Newent Sports Centre.
