ASTON Ingham came back from a disastrous start to beat Hawkesbury in a low-scoring match.

Aston were 2-1 in the fourth over, eventually posting a total of 126 all out in 33.2 of their 50 overs.

Anthony James was Aston’s top scorer with 40 which included seven fours and six.

Oliver Henson hit 23 including four fours and Dharzekanth Yoganadan made 20, also including four boundaries.

Hawkesbury were 12-1 after Mohammed Dilshad had Fred Bennet lbw in the West of England Premier League Gloucestershire division.

But the visitors appeared to have victory in sight when they reached 98 with five wickets remaining when Edward Bell caught Rhys Lamplugh off the bowling of James in the 27th.

James then picked up a double wicket maiden with successive deliveries in the 33rd.

Bell took a catch to dismiss Davis Newcombe and Joshua Morris was caught lbw 109-7.

Jack Carpenter made it 110-8 in the next over when he had Luke Messer leg before.

Hawkesbury managed a run apiece in the next two overs but Sam Didcote wrapped up what had looked like an unlikely victory by taking the last two wickets in the 37th over.

Carpenter took a catch off the first ball to dismiss Alistair Bell and Gavin Huxford went to a catch by Bell with the final delivery of the over to leave Hawkesbury 13 runs short.

Earlier in the innings, Bell had taken a catch off the bowling of Dilshad which saw the end of Hawkesbury skipper Geprge Bailey.

Carpenter had Kudzai Maunze lbw and Yoganadan took a catch off Dilshad.

Dilshad finished with 3-29 off 10 overs, James had 3-41 off 10, Carpenter was 2-18 from eight and Didcote 2-17 off 6.5 overs.
