A BRILLIANT bowling performance skittled out Ross-on-Wye CC's title rival hosts for just 35 runs on Saturday, to keep the Wyeside outfit top of Worcestershire Division 8 South.

The visitors scored 190 all out in 42.3 overs away to third-placed Bartestree & Lugwardine 3rds, Sachin Anil scoring 44 and Albert Johnson 36.

But the fireworks started when the hosts began their reply, with not one batter making double figures despite them having 17 on the board before the first wicket.

Will Brookes held a catch off a Chloe Tingle delivery for the first dismissal, and from that point wickets fell like ninepins.

Mudassir Raspool trapped the other opener lbw without further score, and very next ball speared a golden duck bowling the new man (17-3).

The hosts added six more before Tingle held on to a catch from a Kiran Krishnan ball (23-4) and Rasool then scattered the stumps for his third wicket (23-5) without addition.

And he made it four bowling the skipper for three next (26-6) before a Krishnan lbw made it 32-7.

Two balls later, Krishnan bowled the next man for a silver duck (32-8) and next over Rasool secured his fifth wicket bowling his replacement for another duck (33-9).

It took seven more balls to finish the hapless hosts off, Krishnan landing his fourth wicket thanks to a Richard Jeffreys catch, with Bartestree all out in 19.3 overs.

The 155-run win keeps Ross top of the table by three points from Dales, although the Wyesiders have played a game more.

Ross now face another vital title chasing match at home to Hay on Saturday (August 8), who leapfrogged Bartestree to third after beating Ledbury 2nds by four wickets on Saturday.
