Ross 2nds entertained Bartestree & Lugwardine 4ths on Tennis Meadow at the weekend and, after B & L had won the toss and opted to bat, the Ross bowling attack were soon proving to be too strong for their opponent.

All the bowlers used showed great discipline and the visitors were ruthlessly bowled out for just 62 inside 18 overs.

Lizzie Jeffryes, Wayne Husbands, Paul Morris and Alex Springer all took two wickets each, whilst an excellent pick up in the field, and a direct hit by Husbands also claimed a magnificent run out. Alex Springer added three catches to his wickets as the Ross bowling and fielding effort was first class.

In reply, the Ross batsmen had an enjoyable time as they knocked off the runs needed for victory inside 13 overs to win by six wickets. Overall, the hosts displayed their strength and depth of ability.

The 23-point win moves Ross into second place in the division four league table and the promotion push is now very much the focus for the remainder of the season.
