The first cricket game between Wormelow Cricket Club (WCC) Juniors and Kingstone Academy Juniors took place recently.
This was the inaugural game of what is hoped to become an Annual Event on the Wormelow Cricket Club Junior fixture list. WCC has supported Kingstone Academy’s cricket aspirations over many years.
This year WCC provided practical coaching support thanks to Ross-on-Wye-based cricket coach, Robbie Stonadge, working with Lee Butler at Kingstone Academy.
This culminated in Kingstone being able to field a Junior team for a competitive match for the first time in a while. The kit for Kingstone Academy was sponsored by MSC Associates Ltd, after contact was made via Peter Reed, incoming PE Teacher at Kingstone next year.
The game was competitive, played in a great spirit and with food and drink supplied afterwards, the evening was enjoyed by players, helpers and parents alike.
