Wormelow 1st XI made the short trip to Bartestree last Saturday looking for a positive result.

Bartestree batted first and compiled a below par score of 219 all out, stand outs with the ball for Wormelow were Ali Main 3-30 and James Powell 2-34 whilst K Smith (75) and A Jones (55) top scored for the home side. The run chase got off to a positive start with Jamie Langford (39), Luke Jones (39) and Elliott Williams (29) all being aggressive, however wickets fell at regular intervals with no one able to go on and get the big score that was needed. Wormelow were all out for 190 in the 39th over, Marcus Ashcroft 4-29 with the best figures.

At Kennelfield, Wormelow 2nd XI played hosts to Bartestree 2nd XI. The home side batted first and a superb opening stand of 132 between Dave Bannerman (66) and Ben Gunn (50) laid the platform for Wormelow to post 234-8 from their 50 overs. Karim Alee (29), Dylan Baynham (26) and Ben Porter (21) all contributed whilst C Koralalage picked up 4-30.

Wormelow picked up wickets regularly throughout the Bartestree innings and bowled them out for 216 to secure an 18 run victory. Skipper Jordan Reading 2-17 off 10 overs, Porter 3-38 and Baynham 2-44 all bowled well, for Bartestree M Eckley (42), P Monteath (38) and M Smith (31) top scored.

At Kingstone High School the Wormlelow 3rd XI welcomed Colwall 4th XI. A patched up Wormelow side performed well in the field to restrict the visitors to 168-6 from their 40 overs. Mick Merrick led the way with 2-22 with good support from Harriet Cuthbert 1-17, Dave Verry 1-12 and Monty Kennerley 1-43.

For Colwall M Koliasnakoff (46) and S Oliver (42) top scored. In reply Wormelow struggled with the bat with only Oliver Langford (35) able to post a score of note as they were bundled out for 96 in the 29th over. For Colwall B Recorden 4-18 and H Evans 3-13 were the pick.
