There were 60 entries in this year's Kyrle Trial, which took place in and around The Forest of Dean on 14th April. The event was organised by The Ross and District Motor Sport Club.
Competitors covered around 50 miles between the observed sections. Once there, the main aim was to climb the muddy slopes as far as possible in order to get the lowest score. The previous evening's wet weather proved to make the slopes a lot more challenging, with certain hills having to be cancelled due to the mud.
The winner of the Kyrle Trophy was Dean Partington in his D P Wasp, with a score of 24 points. By tie decider, the Pepper Pot award for Best Ross Driver went to Dave Price for his first trial in his VW Beetle with 111 points.
The Ross and District Motor Sports Club would like to thank all the marshals who came from many different clubs and worked extremely hard.
They would also like to thank the Midland Rover Owners Club, whose recovery Land Rovers were really needed this year.
