Ross Ladies A team had a challenge this week, travelling to Madley to play against tough opposition, who have been unbeaten this season.

On a scorching spring day with difficult conditions due to the sun, Ross' first pairing, Rosie Farr and Jane Pepperell lost to Madley's first 6-1, 6-2.

Their second match was a bit closer, 6-3, 6,4, despite several long rallies with the opposition making several precision lunge volleys.

Ross' second pair, Sarah Drake and Gaynor Raine also struggled, losing both their matches with similar scores, losing 6-4, 6-3 to Madley's seconds, 6-1, 6-1 to their strong first pair.

Although this match seemed a bit frustrating, the ladies remained in high spirits and despite this loss, they remain in a good position overall in the Hereford and Worcester league.
