Five Swimmers from Ross-on-Wye competed for Hereford over the weekend in the annual open meet at Millfield in Somerset. Held over two days this was the first time they had qualified to swim in the 50 metre Olympic sized pool.
Competing against swimmers from all over the South and Wales this was a great opportunity to show the hours of training were well worth the effort.In the 12 year old girls category Emily Morris recorded numerous personal bests smashing her best times in the 100m Breastroke,100m and 200m Freestyle producing some great finishes in a highly competitive field. Lizzie Jeffryres, competing in the same age group powered through in her favourite 50m and 100m Backstroke events recording outstanding times to pick up two silver medals, she also beat her personal bests at Freestyle and Fly.
Danielle Gabb competing in seven events in the 14 year old girls category recorded some outstanding times. She achieved five personal bests, the highlight a bronze medal in the 50m Freestyle, she also managed four other top five finishes.
