Two Herefordshire runners participated in the 2016 Manchester Marathon last week.

The popular race attracted around fifteen thousand runners, including a team from Spirit of Monmouth Running Club.

Allan Meek, the Club Coach, completed the race in an excellent time of 3:14:58. This was Allan’s fastest time in over four years and put him in the top ten percent of his age category. The result automatically qualifies Allan for a prized London Marathon place.

Father of two, Rob Nicholls was competing in his first ever marathon. Rob achieved a fantastic time in the race, completing the 26.2 mile course in 3:23:56 and cementing his position as one of Spirit of Monmouth’s top runners.

The Spirit of Monmouth Running Club has members from Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire.
