Ross Ladies hosted Colwall for a friendly fixture on the Tennis Meadow pitch at The Park on Sunday, July 27th. Both teams had struggled to put out full XIs with summer holidays decimating the number of available players. However a good contest took place on the field with Ross stealing a narrow victory, much to their delight. In a fairly low-scoring game, Lizzie Jeffryes (19) was Ross' top run scorer in a final total of 90 for 7 off 25 overs. For Colwall, C Hoare, A Stockdale and skipper Becky Fortnam all took two wickets a-piece. After tea Colwall took to the field, and opener C Hoare and A Stockdale set about the Ross bowling attack.
