Ross Juniors Men’s Side was away to bottom of the league Rank Outsiders Res on Saturday and came away 11 - 0 winners.

Ross had made some squad changes for this game as they were confident of beating them by double figures last time out. So in came Jack Jennings, Toby Alexander and Sammy Taylor from the start.

It didn’t take long after kick off when the ball fell to Jennings in the box for the easiest of tap ins. Ten minutes in and Ross was quite comfortable passing the ball around. Jennings ended up with the ball outside the Ranks’ box, who layed it off to Taylor to smash it passed the keeper to make it 2 - 0. After 20 minutes and with Ross keeper Bosco Barnett having little to do made a great save from Ranks midfielder from 30 yards out.

After clearing the corner and the ball being played up the pitch, Brad Wooding played a long ball over to Alexander who knocked it down to Callum McCulloch to score his first of the match. Half an hour gone and Jennings missed a sitter from six yards out but he soon made up for it a minute later with a shot from 20 yards out which went in past the bewildered keeper.

Jennings soon had his hat-trick from a rebounded shot which he got to quicker than the keeper to make it 5 - 0. Just before half time a Ranks’ corner was cleared by McCulloch who played it to Wooding, who ran from inside the Ross half all way to inside Ranks 18 yard box and with a sweet left footed shot it went in to make the score 6 - 0.

Second half, 50 minutes in and Wooding had his second with a lovely take, touched it over a Ranks’ defender’s head and scored with a volley on the turn. With Ross making it difficult for Ranks to get the ball off them, McCulloch popped up to make it 8 - 0 with an assist from Alexander.

A few minutes later Brad Wooding also had his hat-trick with Kristian Milnes crossing the ball in for Wooding to beautifully chip the ball over the keeper. With the game wrapped up manager, Jaime Jones, took off McCulloch and Wooding for Luke Harris and Callum Trotman.

Ten minutes from the end Ross was awarded a penalty for a Ranks’ defender handball in the six yard box. Jack Bray stepped up to send the keeper the wrong way and made the score 10 - 0. Then with few minutes to go Milnes travelled with the ball up the wing to whip in a cross, Harris flicked it on past the defender and the ball fell to Alexander, who finally got his goal.

Rub A Dub Dub Man of the Match went to Jack Jennings.

This week Ross is at home to Harrow Hill B 2.30pm ko at the Sports Centre.
