In front of a crowd of 2766 Hereford FC chalked up their 25th league win of the season. Hereford extended their lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Premier League Southern Division to 7 points with two games in hand off second placed Kings Lynn.
Despite a dominant first 45 minutes, Hereford couldn’t muster many direct attempts at goal, and none for the away side.
This changed in the 54th minute when debutant Jennison Myrie-Williams smashed a shot in on the underside of the crossbar from 25 yards. A fantastic debut goal worthy of winning a match.
The Bulls though, were not finished. Less than 20 minutes later, after a game of pinball with Reffell, Haysham and the Terras defence in the box, the ball broke loose and Reffell smacked in a left foot shot from six yards. The ball squirmed through the arms and body of Will Dennis and crossed the line. The points were assured after that, and Weymouth didn’t manage a shot until the 88th minute when a free kick was deflected wide.
It was a resolute performance, and although it can’t be taken for granted, it will take some doing to catch the Bulls as the tail end of the season approaches.
