Hereford FC played Kettering Town on Tuesday, December 19th, away at Latimer Park, producing a thoroughly professional performance, running out 3-1 winners.

Goals from Eliot Richards, John Mills and Mike Symons ensured Hereford became the first side to gain a victory at Kettering in the Southern League this season.

Eliot Richards opened his Bulls account in the seventh minute before John Mills scored a stunning second goal 30 minutes later. Aaron O’Connor then pulled a goal back for Kettering with nine minutes remaining, but Mike Symons sealed Hereford’s win.

Indeed Kettering had not conceded more than one goal to any team at Latimer Park and yet Hereford went toe-to-toe with their opponents right from the kick-off.

Manager Peter Beadle was quick to stress the importance of the character, commitment and quality of his entire squad, as there are likely to be many more of these important battles in the months ahead.
