The comprehensive programme of competitions and events scheduled in 2017 for Ross-on-Wye Golf Club’s Men’s Seniors (60+) members was kick-started recently when 59 took part in their traditional three Clubs & Putter 16 holes stableford competition. This provided the opportunity for many to realise that there are times when they can perform more effectively with four clubs than they seem able to do with a bag-full.

On this occasion it was David Morgan and Tim Fewell who provided the marvellous examples and in both carding 38 points totals, it was David whose better back seven holes meant that he took the day’s top prize.

Tim will be delighted that he was able to continue the consistent form in 2017 that was witnessed when completing his 2016 season. Jim Millar, who gives a great deal of time and energy in the fulfilment of the Seniors activities, was a popular third place winner with 36 points, followed by Malcolm Thornton, also with 36 points, and Jeremy Picton-Turbervill, with 35 points.
