On Sunday, October 8th, Ross Juniors U12s travelled all the way to Tenbury, but, as a team, never really turned up.

On a tight pitch against a top team, and with some players missing, Ross needed to bring their A-game but struggled to get going.

They had ‘Roo’ to thank for keeping their goal intact early on, but the pressure soon told, and Tenbury took an early lead.

Ross were unlucky not to grab an equaliser, when a great pass from Theo found Harvey down the left and he, in turn, put in a wonderful cross that found Tom at the far post. The goal was at his mercy but unfortunately his shot narrowly missed the target.

Tenbury made the visitors rue that miss, by extending their lead soon after. Player Ollie almost scored when through on goal, but the Tenbury keeper made a great save to deny him.

Then, just before the end of the half, a defensive mistake led to a demoralising third goal for Tenbury.

Ross held their own for the first 10 minutes of the second half, almost pulling a goal back from a corner kick, but Tenbury then added a fourth goal from a breakaway.

Ross did not deserve that, but it seemed to knock their spirit and lift their opponents, and the last quarter was all one-way traffic. Despite dogged defending, Tenbury added 3 late goals.

The Saltrock Scaffolding Man of the Match was awarded to Theo Roblin.
