Due to the inclement weather, the January and February Herefordshire Football Association outdoor league games are suspended, replaced instead with indoor Futsal.

Ross Juniors U8s travelled to Hereford to play Pegasus, Lad’s Club and Ledbury in a mini Futsal tournament. Pegasus, who have previous Futsal experience, came out of the blocks quickly, getting two early goals before Ross settled. Charlie opened Ross’ account with a lovely goal between the Pegasus’ keeper’s legs.

Louis, in goal, was called on a number of times before Luca got the equaliser, jumping on a palmed save from his right-foot smasher.

Ross were dominant against Lad’s Club. Toby and Charlie were leading the attack, wave after wave, with Toby getting the first. This was followed by a rapid hat-trick by Jackson, every part a centre forward. Even though they got one back, Niall made it 5:1 with a sublime turn and chip from a Jackson pass.

The final game was against a very competent Ledbury side. Luca converted an early penalty to give Ross the edge. A solo highly skilled effort from Ledbury equalled the score shortly after. Another attack by Luca led to a Ledbury own goal. However, despite valiant defending by Thomas and Gabriel, Ledbury pulled back four goals to win the game.

A draw, a win and a loss against some very capable opposition was a great overall result for Ross’ first taste of Futsal.
