There were goals aplenty in this tense, tetchy five-all draw away to Redditch, but it was a game that Ross Juniors U16s should have won.

Ross started well and were two goals up after ten minutes, the first coming when Joel netted from a corner, the second soon after courtesy of Jordan. But Redditch got over the initial shock and played themselves back into the game, drawing level with two quick goals on the quarter hour mark. It was now end-to-end stuff as both teams tried to get the edge, but it was Ross who nosed in front. In a nicely worked move Jordan and Joel played a skilful one-two down the right wing before Joel shot and scored.

In extra time at the end of the first half Ross extended their leave when Owain shot home putting the finishing touch to another slick passing move.

The second half was stressful for the travelling Ross fans. The Juniors took the game to 5:3 when Owain scored his second, but they looked vulnerable at the back. Redditch took advantage and equalised in the last minute of the game. Five-all was a fair result, but disappointing for Ross who had led throughout.

On Saturday the Juniors are at home against Pegasus from Hereford in a much anticipated local derby.
