The Ross-on-Wye Juniors Football Club ran their first ever ladies football session, on Friday, October 23rd.

This followed a request from Rosie Davenport, who, in the past, played for the Ross Juniors under 16s, but is now too old to play junior football.

Friday’s training session was arranged to see what interest there would be locally in forming a team and regular training. Rosie missed playing locally and was not enjoying the one hour round trip to Hereford to play regularly either.

The first training session exceeded all expectations with 22 turning out to train. Club Chairman, Jim Loftus told the Ross Gazette:?“Thanks to the Ross Gazette’s support, a good luck message from Loren Dykes of Bristol Academy, and a social media campaign alongside word of mouth, interest grew in the event leading up to the first training session.”
