Ross Juniors Men’s team was away to Milkwall on Saturday and came away with a 7 - 0 win.
Ross started the game strongly and had chances in first 10 minutes, with Brad Wooding and a Dave Nicholls hitting the woodwork couple of times.
The first goal came after Nicholls had the ball in the middle of the park and played through to Jack Bray, who made fantastic run down the wing to score.
Bray also took the second goal after someone touch passing in the centre, from the midfield and forwards, with Callum McCulloch playing the ball to Bray’s feet to fire it home. Ross was very much in possession of the ball keeping it well away from Milkwall.
Bray received the ball out on the wing. He then ran with the ball to the edge of the box to cross it to McCulloch who slotted the ball into the net to make it 3 - 0. Just before half time Jon Woodward picked up the ball from the back to go on a charging run, dodging the Milkwall players. He got to inside the area to see his shot on goal go narrowly wide.
In the second half Shaun Aston came on for Woodward. Soon after Ross had another chance from a corner when Jack Jennings towered above the rest only to have his header saved on the line.
Milkwall was trying to get back into the game but Wayne Husbands was running a tight ship with the Ross defence keeping the shots away from goal.
There were a couple more changes after 60 minutess, with Ben Gardner and Toby Alexander coming on for Wooding and Jennings. As soon as he was on the pitch Gardner had his first goal from a pin-perfect pass from Husbands, over the top from the back line for Gardner to half volley it past the keeper.
Five minutes later Nicholls hit the bar after good link up play from McCulloch, Bray and Gardner.
The football was free flowing from the Ross players and all the players were comfortable on the ball. Husbands, Aston and Bray were passing with one touch passes, then Bray whipped the ball in across the box for Gardner to get his second goal.
Gardner scored his hat-trick after Nicholls played him through to make it 6 - 0.
Bray was causing problems for the home side all game and had another perfect cross just missed by Gardner again. Nicholls then finished off the rout with a well taken goal after being set up by Alexander.
Rub a Dub Dub Man of the Match went Jack Bray. Ross are away to Littledean on Saturday, 2pm kick off.
