Hereford Football Club won its first promotion on its journey back to the Football League in 2016 coinciding with Hereford Racecourse’s reopening. Both sports grounds have worked closely together since then and the Hereford FC Academy Raceday will raise awareness and funds for their Youth Academy which nurtures and develops young football stars of the future, something that will be crucial during the club’s progress in the future.
There will be a real football feel to the raceday, with a jockey vs footballer penalty shoot-out before racing, the winner receiving their height in Westons Cider. Hereford FC players will also be on hand throughout the day to meet with fans and racegoers, who can also try their own hand at a penalty shootout.
Hereford FC Season Ticket Holders will gain free admission on the day, available in advance only, and those wishing to take hospitality can enjoy a delicious two-course lunch in the Hereford FC Restaurant overlooking the finishing straight for £60 plus VAT per person with all proceeds donated towards the Hereford FC Academy. Rebecca Davies, Executive Director at Hereford Racecourse said: “I am thrilled to be working so closely with Hereford FC, both have had our challenges in the past but together we are helping the City enjoy a sporting resurgence.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
