ROSS Juniors Ladies entertained Westfields in the Herefordshire County Cup on Sunday and ran out 3-0 winners.

It was an excellent performance, with a number of regular players missing, but the team stepped up to ensure victory.

The team were dominant in the first half, with goals from Isla Fox Howard, Cassie Tucker and Jess Brain putting them 3-0 up at the half-time break.

There were more chances in the second period but no more goals, as Ross – sponsored by Kings Accountancy Ltd, Ross Health and Fitness and Modular Building Site Services Limited – comfortably saw out the game with a clean sheet.

Elsewhere, Newent Town Women faced Gloucester City 2nds at Wildsmith Meadow in the Gloucestershire Women's Cup, and found the two-division gap too much of an ask despite a valiant performance, going out 7-0.

Mitcheldean Ladies also exited the competition after a 4-1 defeat away to Bream Amateurs Ladies, all the goals coming in the first half, and Beth Cole with the consolation.

Ross Juniors Women didn’t have a game at the weekend, but travel to face Kingfisher Women in the Mid West Counties League this Sunday (October 25).

Juniors Ladies host Newtown Sports the same afternoon, while Newent Town Women face Downend Flyers 2nds away.
