HEREFORD?FC’s game at Biggleswade was postponed on Tuesday, March 13th, due to a waterlogged pitch. Heavy rain left the pitch in an unplayable condition.

However, their game to Basingstoke on Saturday, March 17th, went ahead and Hereford suffered their first ever back to back defeats in the League.

Hereford were a goal down in the first minute and struggled to carve out any direct attempts on the goal, despite having the majority of possession. Symons hit the bar mid way through the first half but couldn’t convert pressure into goals.

Hereford finally got on level terms in the 62nd minute with a Jordan Liburd header, after Mills and Smith had been introduced a few seconds earlier. Basingstoke repelled further attacks and scored with a set piece in the 75th minute with the ball scraping over the line.

With Hereford throwing players forward, Basingstoke then broke away to score a fine third goal consigning the Bulls to a defeat.

Manager, Peter Beadle, said that he was ‘hugely disappointed’ following the 3-1 loss at Basingstoke, and that his players needed to ‘roll their sleeves up and show people what we’re all about.’

Hereford still remain top of the league by one point and two games in hand.
