MITCHELDEAN secured the North Gloucestershire Premier title with a 4-1 win away to Ruardean Hill 2nds, James York, Charlie Meek, Sam Dowle and Adam Beaumont their scorers.

Victory and a 4-3 defeat for nearest rivals Westbury at home to Huntley crowned them champions, with the fourth-placed latter side now in reach of second with one game left, after goals from Lee James (2), Will Freeman and Callum Love, having also beaten Whitecroft 5-2 away in midweek.

Howle Hill in eighth lost out 3-2 at third-placed Blakeney though, Callum Hall and Kristian Milnes with their consolations.

Ruardean Hill's Gloucestershire County campaign ended with successive defeats – 4-1 at second-placed Frampton in midweek and 4-2 at top-five Wick, leaving Rangers 10th and safe, although Totterdown can still overtake them.

Ross Juniors men produced a battling performance in their penultimate NG1 game of the season before losing 4-2 at newly-promoted Soudley, who had beaten champions Longhope 1-0 in midweek.

But Ross will be playing in NG2 next season regardless of their final result, as a win will only lift them off the bottom above Woolaston 2nds, not clear of the drop zone.

Their goals were provided by a Sam Thorne brace, with a trip to Sling to finish off with this Saturday (May 3).

Third-placed Ruardean Hill A’s NG3 promotion hopes bit the dust though with a 3-1 away loss to Staunton & Corse A, Alfie Nichols with a late consolation.

But Ross Ladies playing a 9-aside game on a full-sized pitch on Sunday beat third-placed Westfields 5-1 at home in scorching heat in the Herefordshire Women’s League, and can still overhaul them with two games in hand.

Jess Brain fired a brace backed by strikes for Danie Ward, Hannah Jenkins and an own goal.
