The Under 12 girls from Ross, who play in the Gloucester County Leag?ue, were delighted on Monday to receive a visit from Neil Vanstone and Nicole Lewis of Vanstone Building and Consultancy.

The company has kindly agreed to sponsor the team for the season and has provided them with Nike training shirts. “It’s fantastic to be able to help a local club and particularly the girls team, we are a local business so it made perfect sense to see if we could benefit a local club”.

Neil previously coached a boys team for a number of years for Ross, five of these boys now making up Hereford FC’s under 18 team. Nicole, a keen local footballer, has made the odd guest appearance to help Ross ladies when they started too, so the family and the business have very strong links with the club.

Carl Roberts, the girls’ coach, said: “The girls were thrilled to find out they were getting training shirts this year, they have all started secondary school recently but despite this big lifestyle change their commitment to the team remains excellent and training is always fully attended by all girls.

“The sponsorship is the icing on the cake for the team, the girls said they felt like a proper team now.”
