The Ross Juniors Girls hosted the first Herefordshire under 8 girls’ tournament of the season, on Sunday, October 4th.

While the main emphasis was on fun and participation, the Ross-on-Wye girls did very well. They won five games out of five and scored 17 goals.

With six teams entering, and 33 players, accompanied by over 100 spectators, it was a hectic and fun morning. The teams who finished top at the end of the tournament also had the added incentive of playing in the end of season cup final at Edgar Street.

Ross were depleted with two of their regular players away, but younger players ably deputised throughout the morning. The pleasure of taking part was evident as the Ross girls all took turns to help Belmont by playing for them throughout the morning.
