Ross Juniors Under 11 Girls came back from behind twice on Sunday, May 13th, to win the Under 11 County Cup Final.

Through sheer perseverance and dogged determination, the girls turned adversity into triumph and when the final whistle blew they were 3:2 up against a superb Belmont Wanderers side.

Throughout the season, they have shown true team spirit and have all supported each other in a wonderful demonstration of grass roots football at its very core. Sunday’s game was the culmination of a great season, which also saw the girls narrowly loose the County Futsal Final.

Scarlett was yet again immense in attack, scoring all three Ross goals. Other Ross strikers, Alisha, Mia, Florence and Megan all played brilliantly. Jenna, Cara and Rebecca were the cornerstones of the Ross midfield/attack and played stonking games with chances on goal themselves. Ruby, in goal, made some great saves and there were some great tackles by defenders Violet, Amber and Hazel. Every single girl raised their game and were very worthy winners.

Co-Managers/Coaches, Louise and Julie said: “We are so proud of the girls. They have worked so hard all season and thoroughly deserve to be the Cup Winners. They are such great girls and it was wonderful to see them get rewarded in their first season playing together as a team.”
