Once again Colts took to the Ross Sports Centre Pitch in near perfect footballing conditions.

The match started with the undefeated Colts on the front foot. Coreley were disciplined at the back, "parking the bus" for the first half of the match leaving Colts relentless assault on the goal without any reward but for a massive corner count. Coreley’s only attacking option seemed to be long balls for their lone striker to try to connect with but he was excellently marshaled by Callum, Chris and Edward. Even after the "Three Musketeers" were substituted on Ross could not find the net.

Eventually an own goal from a great strike by Owen and a goal from the skilful Owen towards the end of the half made the score 2-0. The busy Edward then slotted the ball home from a penalty kick after an obvious handball. Half time 3-0.

The second half started to the surprise of all with Coreley on the front foot and immediately on the attack. The Colts defence stood firm for a while making a number of excellent interceptions before a scrappy goal was scored by Coreley. Coreley were filled with confidence and were matching Colts for a while. During some more scrappy play the ball went in to the Colts penalty box and hit the hand of one of the Colts players. The ref pointed to the spot, but the penalty was put wide.

Despite their setback Coreley continued to play much better than in the first half, but Colts showed great character and had lots of shots now the match was more open. Good shots peppered the Coreley goal and their goalkeeper made many fine saves, but Colts were successful on two occasions through Alfie and Owen.

Well done to Colts and coaches Paul and Paul. Colts had to work hard for the score line but they came through a difficult match to win 5-1. A stern test awaits next week at Ledbury, with Colts having three regulars out, but this year there is depth in the squad and a confidence in the team to perform well.
