Ross Juniors U11s extended their winning streak to five games away at Orleton on Saturday.

The home side started well and Owen was called into action early on, racing off his line to deny their striker a shot from six yards out. Ross took an early lead against the run of play when Eddie raced through on goal and his shot was well saved but, unfortunately for Orleton, the ball struck a defender and went in.

Orleton were soon on level terms with a thunderous shot from the edge of the area giving Owen no chance of keeping it out and the hosts continued to pressure the visitors but Sol and JT were playing well in defence.

Another break away from Eddie looked certain to put Ross ahead again only for the Orleton keeper to make an important save. Eddie then rounded the advancing keeper and slotted the ball home into an empty net.

Ross now started to dominate the game and there was a great chance to extend their lead when Roo hit a fine defence-splitting pass to Luca, but his effort went narrowly wide. Blu was fouled on the edge of Orleton’s penalty area and Jake stepped up and scored, with a little help from a defender.

Eddie set up a chance for Harvey and he made it 4 – 1 with a great strike. Harvey almost added another but the keeper made a good save. Blu made it five just before half time when he intercepted a goal kick and, holding off a defender, thumped the ball into the back of the net.

The visitors continued to dominate the game after the break. Jake sent Niall through but his shot was saved and then set up a chance for JT. David saw a shot saved, before Eddie, now playing in defence, made a vital clearance.

Orleton had a good spell midway through the half and forced Owen into two full length saves but it was Ross who finished the half on the front foot. Roo had a shot saved before JT scored from distance.

A great battling run from Niall on the right found Roo and he laid a pass to Harvey who shot over the bar. Another great pass from Jake found Sol with just one defender to beat and he glided past him and slotted the ball into the far corner to chalk up the visitors’ 50th league goal of the season.

Roo was denied once again by the Orleton keeper and, as Luca followed up, the keeper made a fantastic save to deny him. Ross added one more goal when a great pass from Harvey down the left found Roo who cut inside and forced the keeper into another fine save, but this time Luca couldn’t miss to make the final score 1 - 8.

The Harley Finishings man of the match was Eddie Price.
