TWELVE local primary schools took part in the Ross District Schools’ Swimming Gala last Thursday. Approximately 250 pupils from Years 3 to 6, competed in the annual event, which takes place at Monmouth School Sports Centre.

The Sprint Relay Shield was won by Gorsley Goffs Primary School in a time of 1.16.78 over 4 x 25metres, with Lea and Whitchurch placed second and third respectively.

The Team Events Trophy, which is awarded to the school which has performed best in a series of fun relays including an ‘obstacle’ race, was awarded to Lea Primary School.
