Ross Juniors Boys U15s were crowned Herefordshire League Champions on Sunday, March 26th after results elsewhere went in their favour.

The boys have racked up maximum points having won their last 11 games in a row, and with one game left to play, Ross are in an unassailable position at the top of the league.

Many in the squad have been playing together since the age of 6 which, along with the fact that they all attend JKHS engenders a unique team solidarity which has helped them overcome the opposition in many, very closely contested games this season.

The boys have battled magnificently all season against clubs which have a much greater pool of talent to, draw from, showing that the spirit of the “band of brothers” can outweigh individual ability.

It has been amazing to witness the growing belief amongst the boys as the season progressed that they have what it takes to finish as champions.

All of the boys have contributed to the success of the team, with no individual player warranting praise ahead of any other. As with any great team, the ingredients for success spread beyond the confines of the players themselves, to the dedicated long-serving coaches (Martyn and Matt) and to the parents who have come out every week and in all weathers to urge them on and provide the best support in the County.

The boys and coaches richly deserve their success and will be presented with medals and the League Trophy at Edgar Street on May 7th.
